Does my yurt rental have heating or air conditioning?
Yes! Each of our yurts tents is equipped with both heating and air conditioning to keep you cool and comfortable in the summer months and warm and cozy when the colder weather arrives.
When is check-in and check-out time?

You can check into your yurt rental anytime after 3:00p.m. Check-out time is anytime before 10:00 a.m.

You leave that to us! When you arrive at Escalante Yurts you will find clean, soft linens on the bed and your bathroom stocked with thick towels, soap, shampoo and lotion.
How does the complimentary breakfast work?

Your breakfast is specially prepared daily and is placed in your yurt rental the afternoon prior. That way you can be on your own schedule in the morning! Your glamorous camping experience includes a breakfast with a variety of items, such as breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, quiche, a pastry, fruit, and of course, a cold beverage and coffee. For those with special dietary restrictions, please plan accordingly as we are unable to meet everyone’s dietary needs.

Being in a remote location limits the offerings we can provide.  If you have dietary restrictions such as gluten intolerance, or follow a vegetarian/vegan diet, please bring those specialty items with you.

How far away are the nearest dining options?
We are located just a mile and a half north of the town of Escalante, Utah, where you have five or six restaurants to choose from, as well as three gas stations and two small grocery stores. Hours and days of operation can vary.
Will I have access to WiFi?

Yes, we have WiFi, but keep in mind you will be in a somewhat remote location while glamping in Escalante, Utah and signal strength can vary.

Do I need to bring charcoal for the grill?
Nope! Each yurt rental is equipped with a propane grill and grill utensils.
What about firewood and roasting sticks for the fire pit?

We have three common fire pits with wood, matches, lighter fluid AND roasting sticks so that you can have enjoy hot dogs and s’mores while yurting in Utah! All you need are the marshmallows!

Do all the yurts rentals have a full kitchen?

All of our yurts rentals have a grill on the deck, a small fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker. Only our two large yurts -the Cedar and the Cottonwood – have full kitchens with a cooktop, full sized fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and pots, pans, dishes and utensils. If you plan on preparing your own meals while visiting Escalante, Utah, be sure to reserve either the Cottonwood Yurt or the Cedar Yurt.

When is the best time of year to visit Utah?
Escalante Yurts is open year-round, and every time of year offers something special, but spring and fall are particularly nice! You can enjoy warm daytime temperatures for hiking and outdoor activities in Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, and more, and cool nights for sleeping.
Where is the nearest airport?
When visiting southern Utah you can fly into Salt Lake City or Las Vegas. Both are about a 4 ½ hour drive to Escalante Yurts. If you are renting a car while visiting Utah, we highly recommend an SUV. Many of the best things to see in the Utah outdoors are found on gravel or dirt roads, and a sedan just won’t make it.
Where are you located?

For contact info and directions, visit our Contact page.

From Zion National Park – approximately 2 ½ hours

From Bryce Canyon National Park – approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour

From Capitol Reef National Park – approximately 1 ½ hours

From Arches and Canyonlands National Parks – approximately 5 hours

From Moab – approximately 5 hours.

These times are approximate because there is so much to see when visiting southern Utah. Most people stop and enjoy the sites along the way, whether you explore Hole in the Rock, the Petrified Forest State Park, or any of the other beautiful locations in southern Utah. We say “take your time and enjoy your Utah vacation!”

How close are you to Spooky and Peek-a-boo Slot Canyons?

Escalante is the closest town to the slot canyons in the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. Hole in the Rock road is 5 miles east of Escalante, and Spooky and Peek-a-boo slots are 26 miles out on Hole in the Rock road. Plan on an hour to drive out there. We don’t recommend driving to Hole in the Rock or Spooky and Peek-a-boo slots in a sedan! That road gets a lot of traffic and the washboards and sandy sections are hard on cars. You will have better luck exploring our different places to visit in Utah with an all wheel drive or four wheel drive vehicle of some kind. We have partnered with Epic Jeep Rentals and have Jeeps available to rent during your visit. Just call or email for more information.
